This page describes what data this website collects, why, and what happens to it. The site is operated by Lauren Alani, Director of Digital Innovation at Seuss+ (Seuss Consulting B.V.), based in the United Kingdom. The data controller for any personal data submitted through this site is Seuss Consulting B.V.

What this site collects

The site collects three categories of data: form submissions, server logs, and (minimally) browser session data. No analytics scripts that build user profiles are used.

Form submissions

Two forms exist on this site: the booking request form on the Media page, and the newsletter signup form. When a form is submitted, the information you provide (name, email, message, request type) is sent by email to Gina Dunn, Director of Marketing at Seuss+, at g.dunn@consultseuss.com. The information is also stored as a custom record inside the site’s database for record-keeping purposes. It is not shared with third parties.

Server logs

Like most websites, this site’s hosting environment keeps short-term server logs that include the IP address and user-agent of visitors, the URL requested, and the response served. These logs are retained for diagnostic and security purposes for a limited period (typically 14-30 days) and are then automatically rotated. Logs are not used for user profiling.

Cookies and browser session data

The site uses minimal browser session cookies as part of standard WordPress operation. No tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or social media trackers are placed. If you log in to the site (for example, as an editor), a session cookie is set to keep you authenticated; that cookie is removed when you log out.

Third-party services

The following third-party services may receive data when you use this site:

  • Google Fonts: used to load the typefaces used on the site (Cormorant Garamond and Mulish). Google may receive your IP address and user-agent when fonts are fetched. Google’s privacy policy applies.
  • Site host: the hosting provider for this site processes your request and serves the response. The host’s privacy policy applies to that processing.
  • Email infrastructure: when you submit a form, the contents are transmitted by email to Gina Dunn at the Seuss+ corporate email infrastructure. The email provider’s terms apply to transit and storage.

Why this data is processed

Form submissions are processed to respond to your request (booking, interview, newsletter subscription). The legal basis is your consent (you submitted the form) and legitimate interest (responding to enquiries about Lauren’s professional work). Server logs are processed for security and diagnostics; the legal basis is legitimate interest.

How long the data is kept

Booking and contact form submissions are retained as long as is reasonably necessary to handle the request and any follow-up, typically up to 24 months, after which they are deleted unless retention is required for legal or business-record reasons. Newsletter subscribers can unsubscribe at any time by emailing g.dunn@consultseuss.com. Server logs are retained for the period set by the hosting provider, typically 14-30 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to:

  • Request access to the personal data the site holds about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal data
  • Request erasure of your personal data, where applicable
  • Object to processing of your personal data
  • Request restriction of processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the legal basis
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, email g.dunn@consultseuss.com with the subject line “Data request: Lauren Alani site”. Responses will be made within one calendar month.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time as the site evolves or as the regulatory framework changes. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent material change.
